Drama
There is a tradition of
high quality and inclusive drama at All Saints both
within and outside the curriculum. Over the years the
school has seen a number of outstanding productions
including 'Ratz', 'I Remember it Well' - based on the
reminiscences of York residents and performed on the
main stage of the Theatre Royal, 'Tales Untold' - an
adaptation of Grimm's fairy tales. We have performed two
of the famous York Mystery Plays, 'Moses and Pharaoh'
and 'Herod and the Magi'.
As part of the York Mystery plays we performed on a
wagon in five different sites around the centre of York
and even impressed Judi Dench. The school has also taken
part in exciting projects run by the National Theatre,
York Drama Festival and Riding Lights.
Drama provides excellent opportunities for students to
achieve in a variety of ways whilst allowing staff and
students to work together both on stage and behind the
scenes. It is a vibrant area of school life.
