On Saturday 9th November, All Saints RC School in York held an Autumn Fayre to help raise money for its Student Support Fund. This is used to ensure that students are not prevented from accessing many of the opportunities that we offer in these financially austere times.
With over twenty external stall holders from the local community adding to those of the school, the warren of corridors, classrooms and offices offered a wide variety of temptations. These included arts and crafts, delicious treats, games, tombola, face painting, entertainment and music from the school’s talented musicians.
A buzz of anticipation greeted the arrival of local celebrity Elly Fiorentini of Radio York as she came to open the event. The North Yorkshire Fire Brigade also added to the occasion, offering fun but informative tours of one of their fire engines.
In total, the All Saints Autumn Fayre raised over £3,500, 100% of which will be donated to the Student Support Fund.
Head Teacher Mr. Bill Scriven said, “I am incredibly proud that the community of All Saints has come together to raise so much money for fellow students and their families. The scheme allows every pupil the opportunity to enjoy the exciting trips and visits we organise to enhance our educational and spiritual curriculum.”
