Frequently
Asked Questions
If you have any
questions that you would like to ask us, simply write to us using
the address on the home page or email us.
"How can we find out how the School fared at the last
Ofsted Inspection?"
The school had a very
good 2004 report. Read it using this
link.
The 2008 report will be added shortly.
"What is it that makes a Language College different from those
schools without this designation?"
All Saints covers the
full National Curriculum for all students. Students are, however,
taught two languages from the beginning. This can be expanded in
KS4. There is also a strong international content to each subject
area, to widen students' horizons. There are also international and
global links and the use of advanced technology, such as
video-conferencing, to enhance the curriculum.
"How do I gain admission to All Saints?"
There is a detailed
Admissions Policy. Please follow the link on the home page. If you
wish to discuss matters in private, please ring the School to make
an appointment.
"Does the School have strategies to develop Gifted and Talented
students to their full potential?"
Students are placed
in sets and/or bands virtually from the outset, based on SATs
scores, our own internal "tests", consultations with primary school
colleagues and the Cognitive Abilities Tests administered to all
students at the start of their time in Year 7. This process enables
us to identify students who may benefit from extra tuition or
activities. It also enables us to spot if students are not working
to their fullest capacity. Gifted and Talented students can excel in
many fields: academic, creative, expressive art or sport.
