All Saints RC School in York A Level Results 2013 – Best Ever!
All Saints RC School sixth form students are euphoric after collectively attaining the school’s best ever A level results. Their 69% A*-B and 90% A*- C pass rate positions the school as one of the highest achieving Sixth Forms in York and should see them again placed in the top 10% of schools nationally, which Head Teacher Bill Scriven attributes to exceptional planning and hard work by staff and students.
The students are now set to take up a variety of courses including Medicine, Dentistry, Law and History at Universities across the country and abroad, including Oxbridge and the Russell Group Universities. All Oxbridge applicants secured their places whilst the overall A* – C pass rate, at 90%, reflected the tremendous achievements of all students.
“Our ethos is that everyone can achieve their academic potential with a blend of personal determination and outstanding teaching,” says Mr Scriven. “These A level results prove that challenge, quality relationships between students and teaching staff, and relentless faith in potential really does pay off! We are absolutely thrilled for all our students, who will be fully prepared to embark confidently on new adventures in September.”
To mark the occasion, students released 150 bright yellow and blue balloons stating their onward destinations, and a large vinyl banner was positioned on the Upper School’s Mill Mount entrance railings. The school also twice featured on prime time TV, on BBC Look North, with students and Vic Klays being interviewed about the excellent results.
Vic Klays, Deputy Head, added: “Not only have these students been an incredibly talented year group, they are a delightful set of people with the highest set of standards, principles and commitment. It’s been a pleasure to have them at the school and we wish them all the very best in the future.”
